We were looking at homes in a different county and John was kind enough to make the 3 hour round-trip trek (twice!) to help us out. In both instances, he was extremely detailed and took his time going through every inch of the house. ~ When he inspected the initial property, he was very honest in his findings and we knew there would be a lot of work to be done on the property due to the deferred maintenance. As noted on my previous review, John’s findings led us to pull out of a contract on a troublesome home. We found another home (which turned out to be a keeper) that John and his team inspected. Again, they were fantastic and did an extremely thorough job. Since we’ll be moving forward with this house, we printed John’s report to use as a guide for repairs that we’ll address immediately, and less-urgent things that can be done over the next few years. He makes that very easy in that he prioritizes his findings, so you know which things need to be addressed ASAP, versus those things that can wait a while. I am so grateful for John’s help, as we now know we’re making the right choice for our next home. April 2019 - What a great experience! I found, Home Inspection Authority on Yelp and they had lots of satisfied customers. I called and scheduled a home inspection on Sunday. Yes you read it right, they picked up on Sunday. John from HIA was very professional and communicated clearly how he could help us with our tight window, no pun intended. We scheduled the home inspection for Tuesday at noon. He was prompt, he was professional, and once he was done he gave us an opportunity to ask questions. He even recommend that we hire our own mold inspector due to some watermarks he found on a bathroom wall. I'm glad we took his advice because there was mold that needed remediation. And with our baby being due in a few weeks it was information that was very valuable to us. We had our full report completed 8 PM Tuesday night. The report was through and professionally written. I was particularly impressed that such a detailed report was produced so quickly. It was broken down into 3 color coded categories which made for easy review. 4 MAINTENANCE ITEM, 31 RECOMMENDATIONS, 3 SAFETY HAZARD OR SYSTEM DEFECTS. After sharing the report with our realtor we were able to get the seller to credit us a dollar amount to fix the important items on the report. I highly recommend Home Inspection Authority and will be using them for any future projects. My wife and I were in a time crunch and had 5 days to get a home inspection with a report completed.
